Cubit Zirconia: What Is It?
Cubic zirconia, the amazing sparkling stone that can be found in so many wedding bands and wedding rings, what is it and where does it come from? Cubic zirconia is the better known name for zirconium dioxide in the cubic crystalline form. Generally colorless, this material is very tough and usually produces perfect results. It can be seen in a lot of shapes, sizes, and colors. Because it has a visually close similarity to a genuine diamond, the cubic zirconia has been used as a diamond replacement since 1976. Cubic zirconia is a replacement for diamonds in rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and just about anything else that people would like to have a little glitter on.
But why would you not go for the real thing? Why not get a true diamond ring instead of a cubic zirconia one? Although there are numerous reasons one might find as to why they favor the zirconia, it usually all boils down to funds. Cubic zirconia is very low-priced versus a diamond; that is to say that while a handsome sized diamond jewel would probably cost thousands of dollars, a cubic zirconia of the same visual quality could cost a percentage of this price, even if it's put in real gold.
Cubic zirconias can be seen in jewelry of white gold, yellow gold, silver, tungsten carbide, titanium, and many other kinds of metals. With top-quality cubic zirconia readily available, one no longer has to pay literally thousands of dollars for a diamond, particularly if one is scared to have the diamond misplaced or stolen.
When you spend not a lot of money into a cubic zirconia, you will not feel as tense about wearing your jewelry in public. Many people who own large and costly real diamonds find that they would rather leave the jewel safe at home and not show it off for an event or every day shopping. That's not a worry with cubic zirconia, and you is able to wear it anywhere, getting the same effect as wearing diamonds.
Because there was so much progress in the manufacturing and design of cubic zirconia, the difference between a genuine diamond and a very well crafted cubic zirconia can't be recognized by most people. Usually, only trained eyes can spot the difference; with this said, it is not hard to realize that people actually do not have to worry about everyone knowing whether or not they wear a diamond or a cubic zirconia. Only the ones owning the jewelry will know which it is.
